Behavior analysis services are based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Although the terminology and study of ABA can be very complex it can more simply be understood as methods to increase and decrease behaviors.

Rather than view behaviors from an internal perspective of interpretation, Behavior Analysts or BCBA’s (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) observe behavior, determine the function of that behavior, and seek to provide alternatives that replace or change the function. This is done through systems of ignoring and reinforcement, in it’s most simplistic of descriptions.

By ignoring behaviors that serve to bring attention or a preferred item, we can translate that to attention for appropriate behaviors that serve the client and the family and ultimately change behaviors. This is just one basic example.

We collect data on behaviors. We count the number of times, or frequency which behaviors occur in a given period of time (i.e., number of refusals in 2 hours). We track the duration of behaviors that last over a period of time (say 5 minutes to 2 hours).

We work with families and train them in the tools and techniques of ABA to provide services for a limited amount of time (brief – 3 months) or more comprehensive (9-12 months) depending on the need.

Behavior analysis is a unique professional which seeks to bring together people to support behavior change, to collaborate across familiesĀ and professions to bring about the best possible “you” to live the best possible life that God has in mind for you. (See Jeremiah 29:11)

We look forward to supporting you on your journey and are grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
